When Walls Tell Stories

There’s something kinda special about seeing a blank wall transformed with colour.

A mural can brighten a forgotten corner, tell a local story, make a space feel safer, take people on a journey, or simply give people something uplifting to look at on their way past. I’ve always loved how public art can completely change the feeling of a place and how people use it.

Colour and illustration affect how somewhere feels. A dull alley can become welcoming, even exciting. A community space or waiting area can feel warm and energetic. Even small creative elements can shift the atmosphere of a place.

I often start by workshoping ideas from local people, stories from the area, nature, history, local people or wildlife… all the juicy bits that make a place unique. I work with a wide range of people, schools, community groups, charities, and local organisations to create artwork that resonates with the environment and feels connected to the people in it.

One of my favourite things is when people get involved in the painting too. There’s something brilliant about watching a wall become a shared project. People often surprise themselves, as they have decided they are "no good at art", a comment I sadly hear a lot, but if you can hold a paintbrush and paint within a line, you can help paint a mural.

I can create large-scale murals, outdoor murals, and also creative and art direction for interior spaces, helping bring together colour, illustration, signage and environmental graphics to create spaces full of personality and story.

If you’ve got a wall, a space, or even just the beginnings of an idea, I’d love to chat
