Box Small was a much-loved summer market that ran for several years in Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens during the Festival. A lively mix of food stalls, craft and jewellery makers, independent traders and family entertainment, it offered a more intimate, creative alternative to the larger city markets we see today.
For this project, I designed the market’s standout stall concept, a structure unlike anything else in Edinburgh at the time. Using a bright, summery colour palette, the design brought warmth and energy to the event space and helped create a cohesive visual identity across the site.
The result was a fresh, playful environment that supported the traders, enhanced the visitor experience, and became a recognisable part of Box Small’s charm.
